Senior Operations Manager (CNC Operations)
Belton Industrial (Thailand) Ltd.The CNC Operation Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining department. This role ensures the efficient production of high-quality components, maintains equipment, and manages a team of CNC operators and programmers. The senior manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives, maintain adherence to safety standards, and ensure production goals are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a CNC operation including production, quality assurance and PMC
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and facilitate professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Production Oversight:
- Oversee the scheduling and execution of CNC machining operations to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Ensure optimal machine utilization and minimize downtime.
- Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure products meet or exceed quality standards and customer specifications.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures and documentation.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality.
- Lead initiatives for lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in CNC technology.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of CNC machinery and equipment.
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for technical support and parts.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all CNC operations adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote a culture of safety and conduct regular safety audits and training.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards and certifications.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage departmental budgets and control costs.
- Optimize resource allocation, including manpower, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, and logistics, to support production goals.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Resolve operational issues and respond to customer inquiries and feedback.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in CNC machining operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, and machining processes. Strong understanding of tooling, fixturing, and metrology.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop teams, manage performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Experience with data analysis and production metrics.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Certifications: Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or relevant certifications are advantageous.
