Job Summary: The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production department, ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and achieving production targets. This role involves managing a team of production staff, coordinating with other departments, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Oversight:
• Manage and supervise the production processes to ensure they meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
• Monitor and optimize production workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
2. Team Management:
• Lead, train, and develop the production team to enhance their skills and performance.
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
3. Quality Control:
• Ensure all products meet the company's quality standards and customer specifications.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to implement quality control measures and resolve any quality issues promptly.
4. Health and Safety:
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the production department.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and BASF’s safety protocols.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
5. Continuous Improvement:
• Identify areas for improvement in production processes and implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Drive initiatives to reduce production costs, increase productivity, and enhance product quality.
• Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements to incorporate best practices.
6. Coordination and Communication:
• Coordinate with other departments such as R&D, Procurement, and Maintenance to ensure smooth production operations.
• Communicate effectively with senior management regarding production status, issues, and improvement plans.
• Prepare and present regular production reports and performance metrics.
